Search Still Ongoing For Suspect As Charge Upgraded

Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart COunty Sheriff’s Office is still searching for Craig Berry and an additional warrant has been secured for 2nd Degree Attempted Murder. Berry is wanted for beating and shooting his wife and running from the scene.

Sheriff Frankie Gray said Berry is a retired special forces veteran and has extensive training in survival tactics. He is an excellent swimmer and diver,and is in good physical shape.He is armed with at least one handgun and is believed to have taken extra ammunition.

He was last seen near River Trace Road and was tracked by K-9s on River Trace Road, including Deputy Steven Dean Jr. and his K9 Lincoln from Henry County.

It is believed he does not possess a phone or any other means of communication at this time. According to a trail camera photo he was wearing some form of camouflage clothing.

“We are not ruling out the possibility that he has received some outside assistance after the incident. We have no information that he is no longer in the area. We are currently working with the U.S. Marshals Service to aid in this matter. We will be conducting a very detailed search of the area from River Trace Rod to Hwy 79 to parts of Hwy 232 this week involving multiple law enforcement agencies. We are putting out the most recent photographs we have of Craig Berry. We are asking the public to report any activity or suspicious circumstances to 911,” Gray said.
