Paris, Tenn.–What a season it’s been for the Henry County High School Fishing Team and the excellence just keeps on going.
At the end of the last tournament on the West Tennessee Student Bass Trail at Birdsong, Brysen Whitaker and Fletcher Mooney along with Byron Ellis and Carter Allison; Aiden Lawrence and Colsyn Edwards finished in the top three for the tournament.
HCHS swept the 2025- 2026 season. Byron Ellis and Carter Allison (1st), Aiden Lawrence and Colsyn Edwards (2nd), Brysen Whitaker and Fletcher Mooney (3rd). All three teams are going to Nationals.
Coach Kandi Ellis said, “And there was a final point standing place for all the teams that have finished throughout the year with the top three teams earning a spot to the Student Angler Federation nationals in Kentucky in June. After the final calculations were done, the Henry County High School fishing team had a clean sweep.” The nationals will be held at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.
This the first time for the same school to sweep the top three.
They will be fishing the West Tennessee Region BASS Nation High School Championship out of Paris Landing this weekend.
