
The Tennessee General Assembly presented a resolution Monday to fishing superstar Bill Dance to honor his service as a professional fisherman. There are three Bill Dance signature lakes in our area: Kentucky Lake, Reelfoot and Lake Halford (in Carroll County).
The resolution highlighted his 60-year career as a professional angler and outdoorsman, pioneering the world of professional bass fishing. It emphasized his dedication to teaching others the art of fishing, acknowledged his extensive achievements in tournaments, television shows, publications, and endorsements, and recognized the recognition he has received from prestigious institutions and individuals.
The resolution recognized Dance as a true representative of Tennessee, epitomizing the spirit and commitment of what it means to be an outstanding Tennessee citizen.
His decades of dedication to the sport of fishing and his role as a pioneer in the industry are truly commendable.
