Ernest Joseph “Ernie” Veglio, 60, of Paris, Tennessee, died Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Ernie was born Friday, September 27, 1963, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late John Lewis Veglio, II, and the late Margaret Giacosa Veglio. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son: Joseph Brandon “Joe” Veglio.

He was the former owner & operator of JB’s Express Mart in Paris.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing fast, riding his 4-wheeler, and being outside.

Ernie enjoyed keeping his fowls, poultry, turkeys, and ducks.

He loved hunting with his daughters and cooking for them in the duck & deer blind.

Ernie enjoyed hanging out with his hunting friends and farming with his father-in-law: Ron.

He was married Saturday, October 16, 2004, to Kim Brown Veglio, who survives, of Paris, Tennessee.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his two daughters: Allie Veglio and Anna Veglio, both of Paris, Tennessee; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ron & Sue Brown, of Paris, Tennessee; several brothers and sisters: Vickie Veglio, of Memphis, Tennessee, Charlene (Greg) Williford, of Rossville, Tennessee, Catherine (Greg) Robertson, of Bartlett, Tennessee, John (Kathy) Veglio III, of Memphis, Tennessee, Albert (Sharon) Veglio, of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Charles (Patricia) Veglio, of Arlington, Tennessee; and his beloved dog: Tucker.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Charlie Cate officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be  Gerald Howard, Ricky “Stick” McLin, Wayne Fuqua, Keith Hickman, Micah Fuqua, Steve Brewer, Randall Bowden, Kenny Louden, Rod Frey and Joe Turner.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, Tennessee.
