More items from Cross County, Arkansas have been found up to nearly 100 miles away in western Tennessee following Friday’s tornado
Wynne, Arkansas, was hit by an EF-3 tornado on Friday afternoon, causing major damage.
Lynn’s Weather Note Page noted that two plastic trick-or-treat bags, and a piece of paper showing a diagram with public buildings have been recovered. One of the bags, and the diagram paper were found in yards west of Ripley, about 76 straight-line miles from Wynne. Another trick-or-treat bag was found near Friendship, some 96 straight-line miles from Wynne.
Lynn said in the Facebook post, “The tornado that hit Wynne came through Covington, Tennessee, later, but not through Ripley, or Friendship. However, the parent thunderstorm was huge in size, and these items circulated around in its mass until finally released over Lauderdale and Crockett counties.”
It is a vivid demonstration of the power of such storms, including the parent thunderstorm of a major tornado. The bags may have come from a damaged school in the town.
