Irvin Wilson Shelton

Mr. Irvin Wilson Shelton, 83, of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, passed away June 28, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

He was born Friday, January 20, 1939, the beloved son of the late Irvin and Mary Shelton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his favorite son-in-law: Bill Steele and beloved dog: Bingo.

Wilson was a hard worker and provider for his family, retiring from Civil Service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After retirement, he worked as a door greeter at Sam’s Club in Clarksville, Tennessee. Wilson proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a former Mason.

Wilson was honored to serve as the Stewart County Commissioner for the Bumpus Mills district for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

He is survived by his loving wife: Patsy “Suzie” Shelton; daughter: Tina Shelton Steele, of Big Rock, Tennessee; sons: Brent Shelton (Carolyn), of Dover, Tennessee; Bart Shelton (Sylvia), of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee; brother: David Leon Shelton, of Alabama; sister: Linda Dean (Colvin), of Wylie, Texas; grandsons: Russell Shelton, Brian Shelton, Steven Rinehart and great-granddaughter: Hannah Shelton.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Hardison and Bro. John Colson officiating. Burial will follow at the Shelton Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
