Mayfield, Ky.–A car driven by a 12-year-old girl crashed into an apartment building in Mayfield Monday night, with no injuries reported. The girl ran off after the car crashed into the building, but was apprehended a short while later.
Around 9 p.m., a Graves County Deputy Sheriff observed a gray Chevrolet Impala driving on North 5th Street with no headlamps. Deputy Sirls activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle sped up and in less than a minute crashed into the office portion of the Mayfield Manor Apartments complex.
The driver fled the scene on foot. After a few minutes of searching, the driver was located and identified as being a 12 year old female.
The Mayfield Fire Department were on the scene, as well as the Mayfield Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
There have been no reported injuries at this time. The investigation is currently underway.
