Paris, Tenn.–Winners of the Scarecrows on the Square contest were announced Friday night and it should come as no surprise that “Leroy The Lineman” by the Paris BPU won Best Constructed with its realistic rendering of a lineman climbing a pole.
Some 20 scarecrows are set up on the Henry County Courthouse lawn and will remain on display through October.
Best In Show winner was the Krider Performing Arts Center, with the Henry County Rescue Squad winning Most Original. Honorable Mention was given to Henry County CASA.
Downtown Paris Association officials said, “A special thanks to all who have participated in Downtown Paris Association’s Scarecrows on the Square. We are so proud to have our Court House decorates so beautifully throughout fall.

The Peoples’ Choice award will be announced later in the month. The public can still participate by voting for the Peoples’ Choice. Ballots are available at Perkins Pharmacy, Lura Lee’s, Bo & Co. Boutique, Off the Square, My Favorite Things, Jack Jones Flowers and Gifts, Market Street Bakery, Market Street Boutiques, and The Iron Place.
