Como, Tenn.–When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That was the philosophy for Tina Fletcher and her family Sunday morning when flash flooding turned their yard into a perfect spot for kayaking.
Some four inches of rain fell during the torrential storm, causing flash flooding throughout the local area.
Fletcher lives next to the Como/Ore Springs Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 140 S. in Como.  She said it does flood whenever there is a big rainfall, “but it has never been this bad.”
Her son, Jeff Vaughn, saw that some of their kayaks had floated away “and we went and got them and decided to kayak. We said, ‘How often is it you get to kayak around in your mom’s yard?’
Fletcher said, “I’ve been wanting to see how my puppy Critter would take to kayaking so we tried it,” and as you can see from the photo, Critter seemed to take to it very well.
