Paris, Tenn.–Reuse and recycle aren’t just catch phrases to the students at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Paris, as students participated in American Recycles Day, making welding artwork out of reusable material. TCAT was recognized Monday by the Keep Paris/Henry County Beautiful program for its participation.
Among the artwork featured were a black and red welding helmet made by Charles Backer, a motorcyclist made by Blake Morton using parts from a weed eater, rebar, recycled steel and a piston. Also, a broken heart made by Terry Kiehn said to represent the loss of a child and a fisherman made by Austin Skinner and Chance Johnson from rebar, plate and tubing steel, and part of a piston.
