Happy Hushpuppies! Fish Fry Begins, Gov. Lee To Attend Governor's Luncheon

Paris, Tenn.—Happy Hushpuppies, everyone!
It’s time for the annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry—the 66th annual actually—and the week will be filled with the best catfish, hushpuppies and slaw, a grand parade, small fry parade, dances, carnival, live music and more.
Governor Bill Lee will attend the Governor’s Luncheon which always follows the Friday parade, but according to his media schedule for the week, he is not expected to attend the parade. Lee walked in the parade when he was a candidate and this will be his first Fish Fry as Governor.
This is what to expect this week:
The traditional kick-off street dance will be held in downtown Paris from 7-9 p.m. Monday with the Ray Lewis Band—as always—performing.
From there, the Fish Fry moves to the Henry County Fairgrounds and the carnival opens on Tuesday and goes through Sunday, April 28.
The Country Cance will be held Tuesday night, from 7-10 p.m. at the fairgrounds, with The Legends performing. Admission is $5.
The Fish Tent opens Wednesday night at 5 p.m. when Hostess Princess Paige Alexander throws out the first hush puppy. The Fish Tent is open from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. All you can eat catfish dinners are $12 for adults and $8 for children 6-12.
The Christian Concert is Wednesday night from 7-9 p.m., with Nathan Shoemaker performing. Admission is $5.
The Arts and Crafts Show begins Thursday night and goes through Saturda evening in the Enoch Building at the fairgrounds.
Championship Bulls and Barrels Showdown is three nights –Thursday, Friday and Saturday night starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Grand Parade begins at 10 a.m. Friday and the parade route once again begins at the East Wood Church of Christ and moves down East Wood Street to the fairgrounds. The parade will be broadcast live on WTPR.
On Saturday, the action moves downtown again with the Small Fry Parade at 10 a.m. The Junior Fishing Rodeo will be held at Williams Lake from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
