The Dixie To Reopen With “Purple Rain”

Huntingdon, Tenn.–After COVID-19 disrupted most of the 2019-20 season, The Dixie Carter Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center will be welcoming patrons back to the Hal Holbrook Theatre with Black Jacket Symphony presents Prince’s “Purple Rain.”

Treat yourself to an early Christmas present as the Black Jacket Symphony recreates the rock icon’s classic album live in its entirety – note for note, sound for sound – Saturday, December 19, with shows at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the “Purple Rain” album, Black Jacket Symphony’s setlist will include some of Prince’s greatest hits, including favorites “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and “I Would Die For You.”

The Dixie is taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions to keep its audience and staff safe with social-distanced seating. The 7:30 p.m. show is sold out, and limited tickets remain for the 2 p.m. matinee at $25, $30, and $35.  To be placed on the waitlist or to purchase tickets to the 2 p.m. show, call The Dixie’s Box Office at 731-986-2100.
