Experience ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at The Dixie on Saturday, June 19

The Dixie’s Hal Holbrook Theatre will transition into a magical world of nonsense as Missoula Children’s Theatre’s (MCT) unique production of Alice in Wonderland hits the stage on Saturday, June 19. Over 50 local students will join MCT’s featured members on stage as Alice grows “curiouser and curiouser” in her adventures!

The Dixie is excited to share Missoula Children’s Theatre touring residency and original adaptation based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass with the West Tennessee community. Specializing in putting their own twist on classic children’s stories and fairytales, Missoula Children’s Theatre is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, touring extensively for almost 50 years. Traveling through all 50 states, Canada and 17 different countries, The Dixie is once again honored to be one of the theatres partnering with MCT.

The cast will consist of local talent in Grades 1st-12 with auditions held on the first day of camp Monday, June 14, at 10:00 AM at The Dixie. Students auditioning must be available the entire audition time if requested, 10:00 – 2:15 PM, and no prior experience is needed. Casted students will have rehearsals June 14 – 18. 

Included in MCT’s residency are three improvisation workshops dedicated to MCT’s mission to develop life skills in children through participation in the performing arts. Creativity, social and communication skills, achieving goals and positive self-esteem are all characteristics students attain through participating in Missoula’s one-of-a-kind educational project.
