Springville, Tenn.–As of 1:30 p.m., a huge law enforcement presence remains at the scene of an active shooter/standoff situation at a business on Hwy. 79 N a few miles outside of Paris.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew appears to be continuing lengthy negotiations with the suspect who reportedly remains inside Indoor Comfort and Heating and Cooling at 9060 Hwy. 79N.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter landed at the scene earlier and officers with the Paris Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also are at the scene.
Officers are blocking the highway both north and south of Indoor Comfort and traffic is being re-routed around secondary roads.
