Obion County Reporting One COVID-19 Death

Union City, Tenn.–The Tennessee Department of Health is reporting one death from COVID-19 in Obion County.

Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire said Friday morning that the death is one of the two people earlier reported to have tested positive for the virus in the county.

The Tennessee Health Department website provides an updated ‘County Case Count’ which provides detailed information on the cases in each of the 95 counties.

In our area, the Case Count shows:

Benton County 4 positive cases; 36 negative.

Carroll County 5 positive, 91 negative.

Dyer County 5 positive, 82 negative.

Gibson County 6 positive, 143 negative.

Henry County 4 positive, 79 negative.

Houston 1 positive, 77 negative.

Obion County 2 positive, 72 negative, 1 death.

Weakley County 1 positive, 68 negative.

Statewide, the report updated Thursday shows a total of 2,845 people testing positive; 31,766 testing negative; 263 hospitalized; and 32 deaths.
