Goodwill To Close Paris Donation Site August 31

Paris, Tenn.– — Goodwill will close its Donation Express Center trailer site at 219 Tyson Ave. in Paris on Saturday, Aug. 31.

For several years, costs to keep the Paris donation site open have exceeded the revenue it produced for the nonprofit organization. The location of the donation center was moved from 1055 Mineral Wells Ave. at the Kroger Shopping Center to the present site in October of 2018 in an attempt to improve its efficiency, but that effort was not successful.

“Goodwill is grateful for the support residents of Paris and Henry County have shown for our mission of changing lives through education, training and employment, and we regret any inconvenience this may cause,” said Danny Rhodes, Goodwill’s director of donation acquisitions. “We hope to be able to re-establish a presence in the area in the future.”

The three employees who work at the Paris donation site will have the opportunity to transfer to another Goodwill location. If they choose not to stay with Goodwill, a Goodwill employment coach will provide them with one-on-one assistance in finding a position with another employer.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee’s nearest Donation Express Center is at its retail store at 1430 S. First St. in Union City. Other west Tennessee locations include a store in Lexington and two stores in Jackson.
