Buchanan Woman Arrested After Foot Chase

Paris, Tenn.- A Buchanan woman wanted on warrants was taken into custody on Sunday night after leading Henry County Sheriff’s deputies on a lengthy foot chase near India Road. She had already led Paris Police on another chase earlier in the day.
Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Waldron arrested Tara Oaks, age 36, of 15055 Hwy. 79 North of Buchanan for evading arrest.
Waldron responded to a call about a female in a bathing suit without any shoes on who had been walking down India Road heading towards Hwy. 79 on Sunday night. The description that was given to police of the female subject matched that of Oaks, who had evaded Paris Police on foot following a traffic stop earlier on Sunday.
According to the report, Oaks was wanted on felony charges in Montgomery County. After a lengthy search for Oaks, officers were unable to locate her after she ran into the woods behind Guinn’s Shoe Store on Hwy. 79 North.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Blake Jenkins and Waldron were checking India Road when Waldron observed Oaks walking in a ditch just north of Jackson Estates Road.
When Oaks saw Waldron’s patrol car she began running down India Road and back behind Jackson Estates Road but Jenkins and Waldron were able to take Oaks into custody.
