BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – A total of 128 University of Tennessee at Martin student-athletes accumulated at least a 3.25 Grade Point Average in 2018-19, as the Ohio Valley Conference recognized its Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipients today.
The 128 Skyhawks to claim OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll status is the second-highest tally in school history, only trailing the 130 honorees in 2017-18. UT Martin has racked up 2,088 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll winners since joining the league in 1992.
Individually, eight Skyhawks collected their fourth career nod on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll list. Blake Williams(baseball), Chantal Wilson (women’s cross country), Cherie Wilson (women’s cross country), Andre Delcalzo (rifle), Maggie Burkett (women’s soccer), Andrea Plantada (women’s tennis), Jemima Potter (women’s tennis) and Sammi Felts(equestrian) each completed their UT Martin careers by accomplishing that remarkable feat.
The OVC compiled a record 1,382 student-athletes on the 2018-19 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, topping the previous high of 1,349 honorees from a year ago. To qualify for a spot on the list, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.25 Grade Point Average, have been eligible and on their team throughout the competitive season in their NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition.
It was previously announced on Monday that 19 Skyhawks earned an OVC Medal of Honor for their perfect 4.0 GPA’s in 2018-19.
