
Puryear, Tenn.–This year’s Puryear Day celebration will be jam-packed with activities. So jam-packed that organizers have expanded it to include a Friday night concert by the Fajita Brothers Band. Puryear Day is organized by the Puryear Lions Club.
Puryear Day activities are this weekend, May 17 and 18. The Fajita Brothers will perform at 7 p.m. Friday with concesssions at the pavilion, with the Puryear Day events starting at 8 a.m. and going through 10 p.m. Our stations WTPR and Froggy will be on hand.
The 5k Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. and the arts and crafts and vendors open at 9 a.m.
The grand parade is at 10 a.m. and the day’s activities include the 5K run/walk, arts and crafts, vendors, food trucks, indoor silent auction, free kids’ games, face painting, bouncy houses and obstacle course, cornhole tournament, 100’s of free birthday cupcakes.
A dunk tank will be set up and there already is a long list of people who have volunteered to be dunked, including District Attorney Neil Thompson, Real Estate Agent Jon Trosper, Paris Police Chief Ricky Watkins, Henry County Hospital CEO John Tucker, and many more.
The Air Evac Lifeteam will perform a flyover. The James Greer Band will perform at 7 p.m. with a dessert auction by Junior Staggs and Doug Taylor.
