Mrs. Hill was born Thursday, December 17, 1931, in Paris, Tennessee, to Charles Newton Wright and Eugenia Jones “Miss Tad” Wright, who both preceded her in death.
She was a longtime and active member of Henry Church of Christ. She was a 1954 graduate of UT Memphis with a BS degree in nursing: retiring as an RN in 1983 with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Mrs. Hill was also a Scouting Den mother and Sunday School teacher. Jane was a loving mother and devoted daughter who cared for her parents and other family members.
She married Jim Porter Hill Sunday, October 24, 1954. He preceded her in death Saturday, July 19, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Patricia Hill, her grandchild Kathryn Elizabeth Hill and her sister Nancy Wright.
She is survived by her daughter: Lisa Hill, of Henry, Tennessee, her son: Chad Hill, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, her grandchildren: Sarah Hill, Charles Hill, James Hill, Brandon Parker, Carey Parker and Genny O’Dell and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Henry Church of Christ, with Roger Graham preceding. Burial will be at Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 12 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Joe Hill, Chuck Hill, Jim Hill, Adam Hill, Travis Hill, Brandon Parker, Gavin Gordon, and Cody Powell will serve as pallbearers.
