Saturday Accident Claims Life of Long-Time Paris Attorney Bill Neese

Paris, Tenn.–The Tennessee Highway Patrol has officially identified long-time Paris Attorney Bill Neese as the victim of Saturday night’s fatal pedestrian accident on Hwy. 79N.

According to the preliminary report issued Sunday night by Lt. Chris Hosick, Neese, age 75, was struck and killed as he crossed Hwy. 79N. As we reported earlier today, the accident occurred in front of Fourman’s Restaurant.

The driver is identified as Clinton Rogers, age 22, of Scotts Hill, Tennessee. According to the report, Rogers was southbound on Hwy. 79N and the pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck.

The accident occurred at 9:05 p.m.

Rogers was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision. Rogers was not injured and no charges have been filed.

Neese has been a long-time attorney and was involved in the community. He has been a coach for the Henry County No Fly Zone for some time. He also is a regular columnist for PARIS! Magazine, writing feature stories about his childhood and growing up in Henry County.

McEvoy Funeral Home has charge of arrangements and a full obituary will be published later.
