
Graves County, Ky.–A Union City motorcycle driver and his passenger were injured after a collision in Graves County.
On May 25, at 4:45 PM, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle, injury collision on KY 129 at KY 94 in Pilot Oak.
Steven R. Vaughn, 43 of Dukedom, was traveling northbound on KY 129 in a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage. At the same time, William Counsell, 65 of Union City, TN, was operating a 2009 Haley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on KY 129.
Vaughn began to make a left turn onto KY 94 West from KY 129, when he turned into the path of Counsell. Counsell braked and turned to the left to try to avoid Vaughn but the two vehicles collided, ejecting a passenger, Laronda Campbell, 52 of Hornbeak, TN, from the motorcycle.
Counsell was transported by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Campbell was transported by Air Evac to a Nashville area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Vaughn did not report any injuries on scene.
Deputy Zac Smith conducted the investigation into the collision. He was assisted by Sgt. Garret Clark, Deputy Austin Caldwell, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Air Evac, the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department and the Sedalia Volunteer Fire Department.
