MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Coach Chris Nelson has announced Raegan Blackburn is the new Bethel Women’s Basketball Assistant for the Lady Wildcats.

Blackburn is an alumnus of Muhlenberg County High School in Greenville, Kentucky, where
she played at the varsity level for six years. After graduating, Raegan went on to play collegiate
basketball at Murray State University for four years before transferring to Bethel University.
Raegan played one year for the Wildcats, due to getting an extra year of eligibility due to Covid.
She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication with a minor in
Biology from Murray State.

Raegan is now working toward obtaining her master’s in business administration at Bethel.
She served last year as a graduate assistant for the women’s program.

Blackburn commented, “Bethel has felt like home since the first day I stepped on campus, and I am excited that I get to call this place home even longer. I have known Coach Nelson and Coach Jenn for quite some time now and have the utmost respect for them as coaches and as people. When the opportunity to take this position was presented to me, I knew I couldn’t turn it down. To be able to coach within such a dominant program is a dream, and I’m just super thankful to be in this position! Coaching has always been a dream of mine and I’m so glad that I get to start my career right here at Bethel. You win with people and the people here at Bethel are who I want to win with. Buckle up because this next season is going to be a fun one! And as always, Go Cats!!!”

Coach Nelson stated, “ We are excited to officially promote Coach Raegan to the assistant coach position. She has played for some successful coaches over the course of her career and obviously finished her college career here at Bethel a couple of years ago. She did a terrific job last season in the GA role and will transition smooth to this position. She is already showing her value recruiting and above all she is a very loyal person. Our players are excited she is staying with us.”
