Puryear, Tenn.–Long-time Puryear bus driver Flossie Smith waves to the crowd Saturday during the Grand Parade at Puryear Day. Smith was the Grand Marshal of the parade after being voted on by the people of Puryear. There were day-long activities, which included food, music, a dunk tank, arts and crafts vendors and more (and that includes a downpour in the late afternoon). The James Greer Band played Saturday night and the Fajita Brothers performed Friday night. Puryear Lions Club officials said the event was an unqualified success. Shannon McFarlin photo.
