Jim Cawley Hero Athlete Award Given To Area Seniors

Martin, TN – WENK and Froggy 99.3 are proud to announce that 28 high school seniors from Weakley
and Obion County have been awarded the prestigious Jim Cawley HERO Athlete Award. Named after Jim
Cawley, a beloved area sportscaster for over 40 years, this award celebrates athletes who exhibit
honorable character both on and off the playing field.

Westview High School: Chloe Peevyhouse, Zabarie Pinkins, Cate Nanney, Jack Willey
Union City High School: Bailey Wagoner, Joseph Lattus, Shelby Bondurant, Cory Gentry
South Fulton High School: Abby McFarland, Daniel Pitts, Anna Gore, Jackson Barnes
Obion County Central High School: Norah Kendall, Hamilton May, Sara Beth Key, Ethan Smith
Greenfield High School – Ginny Archie, Carson Wills, Anastyn Vujicic, Connor Wilson
Gleason High School – Brooklyn McDowell, Kyzer Crochet, Hollie Whitworth, Baker Atkins
Dresden High School – Paisley Pittman, Tristen Jett, Eva Stafford, Tanner Thomas

The ceremony was held at the Martin Event Center in Martin, Tennessee, and Becky Gallagher, General
Manager for WENK and Froggy 99.3, served as the emcee for the event.

Janet Keathley, Jim’s sister,andher husband, Barry Keathley, attended to help us celebrate Jim’s legacy and the students; achievements.

Jim’s widow, Sheila Cawley, was not able to attend. Sheila wrote a letter of encouragement, which Amy
Keathley read on Sheila’s behalf.

Dr. Yancey Freeman, Chancellor for UTM, was the keynote speaker.

Norah Kendall of Obion County Central High School and Jack Willey of Westview High School were each
awarded a $500 college scholarship. The scholarship was in recognition of their outstanding contributions
to their respective teams, as well as their exemplary conduct both on and off the field.

WENK and Froggy 99.3 are honored to recognize these exceptional student-athletes, and we
congratulate them on their well-deserved awards. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors, and
we look forward to seeing them achieve great things in the years to come.
