South Fulton Student Awarded State Beta Club Scholarship

South Fulton, Tenn.–Daniel S. Pitts, a senior at South Fulton High School, was recently selected as the Dale R. Hughes Scholarship recipient for 2024 by the Tennessee Senior Beta Club.   The $10,000 scholarship will be presented to Daniel at senior night in May just prior to graduation.  There is only one Dale R. Hughes Scholarship given in the state each year.

Daniel has been active in Beta through his middle and high school years volunteering for several hundred hours of service projects through Beta.  During his junior year, he ran for State Beta President.  He has competed and placed in various state and national Beta competitions including a first-place win in Woodworking Division II at state convention this year.

He will compete at the Senior National Beta Convention in June in Savannah, GA.  Daniel also won the Dale R. Hughes Leadership Award in 2022.   He was also awarded a $1,000 National Beta Club Scholarship in February.  Daniels parents are Matthew and Laura Pitts of Troy.  Daniel plans to attend UT Chattanoga and pursue a degree in Engineering.   Daniel’s Beta Sponsors are Brandi S. Cantrell and Andy Zimmerman.
