Memphis, Tennessee – Moving into the second week of the two week closure of the I-55 bridge over the Mississippi River, TDOT has started pouring the polymer concrete. It will take 2-3 days to complete the pour, averaging approximately 1000’ per day. The polymer concrete is covered with presoaked burlap and kept wet to ensure proper curing.
Concrete cylinders are broken after 2-3 days. Crews continue to work nightly on construction activities like working the rebar on the future southbound flyover, and installing drainage structures on the north end of the project.
