
Mr. Stephen Marvin Settle, 63, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, on the ancestral century farm in the presence of those who loved him.
He was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, Tuesday, January 31, 1961 to his loving parents, the late Howard Ray and Marjorie Ann Settle Seay. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: Gary and Fannie Ethel Goodin Settle, and Leslie and Mary Barbee Seay.
Steve was a hard worker and provider for his family.
He proudly devoted 28 years working for Morgan Contractors, with most of those years as Pipe Superintendent.
He was his happiest when he was outside, working on the family farm.
Steve had a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Animal Science from Austin Peay State University where he was a member of Beta Mu Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
Steve was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Ft. Donelson Camp 249 and was a board member of Stewart County Farm Bureau for over 20 years.
Steve loved the Lord and was a faithful servant and member of Taylor’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife: Denise Taylor Settle; daughters: Laura Pruitt, of Sherman, Texas, and Katherine Jones (Nick), of Paducah, Kentucky; brother: Patrick Seay (Candice), of Dover, Tennessee; sister: Rhea Ann Nicholson (Larry), of Clarksville, Tennessee; precious grandchildren: Beau Lambert and Wesley Pruitt; nieces: Leigh Ann Whitby and Marjorie Seay; nephews: Jonathan Nicholson and Matthew Seay.
A visitation was held Saturday, March 2, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will resume Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Denise Settle officiating.
Burial will follow at the family cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers are: Patrick Seay, Matthew Seay, Jonathan Nicholson, John Weakley, Keith Hunter, John Green, Craig Houske, and Ben Baggett.
