George Robert Callison

Mr. George Robert Callison, 58, of the Terrell community, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Diversicare of Martin.

George was born Sunday, June 27, 1965, the son of the late Geraldine (Phipps) Callison and the late Warner Ray Callison, Sr. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Kammye Kai Callison and Carrie Suzanne Callison; and a nephew: Joshua Stone Callison.

He was a 1985 Fulton County High School graduate in Hickman, Kentucky.

His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him.

He was a warrior, friend, encourager, and inspiration to many.

He had a love for writing songs and singing.

He enjoyed spreading his joy of music through karaoke and singing with his friends over the years. Most people who knew George met him through his love for music.

He had a love for animals and he adored his Chihuahua: Lucy. She brought him so much joy; if you saw George, she was almost always in tow.

He shared his love for the Lord with others and was of Baptist faith.

He is survived by three brothers: Warner Ray Callison, Jr. (Sheryl), of Martin, Tennessee, Ricky Callison (Billie), of Paris, Tennessee, and Trint Callison (Ginger), of MT. Carmel, Tennessee; and sisters Candy Hernandez, of Trenton, Tennessee, Niki Dobbs (Lee), of Martin, Tennessee, and Samantha Callison, of Jackson, Tennessee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Audi Day (Matt), Brittany Winston (RJ), Beth Williamson,  Ashley Prince (Brandon), Kloye Espinosa, Jazel Espinosa, Silas Campbell, Jaime Hernandez Jr., Robert Hernandez, and Trint Callison Jr.

He is also survived by many great-nieces; great-nephews; and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved dog and companion: Lucy.

Funeral services were conducted 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Trint Callison officiated.

Visitation was held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
