Novalee Green

Novalee Green, 81, of Springville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at her residence.

Novalee Green was born Sunday, March 22, 1942, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Fred Marvin Carter and the late Hazel Jones Carter.

Novalee was a member of Kentucky Lake Road Church of Christ.

She worked at Henry County Medical Center as a nurse for 20-plus years and she was a volunteer at Lakewood School.

She loved quilting, sewing, scrapbooking, and genealogy.

Saturday, November 7, 1964, she married Boyce Waldo Green and he preceded her in death Sunday, January 31, 2016.

Besides her parents and husband, Novalee was also preceded in death by a grandchild: Alivia Scott.

Ms. Green is survived by her daughter: Sarah (Brian) Scott, of Springville, Tennessee; two brothers: Samuel (Donna) Carter, of Pittsboro, Indiana, and Raymond (Darlene) Carter, of Millington, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Aspen Scott, Aden Scott, and Avery Scott, of Paris, Tennessee, and Allison Scott, of St. Petersburg, Florida; great-grandchild: Kyla Scott, of St. Petersburg, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her funeral service will be graveside at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Randy Stephens officiating.

Burial will follow and visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday, at McEvoy Funeral Home before leaving for the graveside service.

Pallbearers for Ms. Green will be: Brian Scott, Aden Scott, Bubba Sparks, T.C. Myrick, Ethan Scott, and Connor Clark.

Memorials for Ms. Green may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue-16th Floor, New York, New York, 10001.
