Dyersburg, Tennessee – The Alpha Epsilon Alpha (AEA) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) academic honorary society at Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) inducted 27 new members at the annual induction ceremony on October 17. The event was held in the Student Center at the Dyersburg Campus.

The inductees included Katelyn Belue of Burlison; Bella Lambert, Aniyah Lemons, and Nicholas Moore of Millington; Halena Fernandez of Atoka; Asia Winegardner of Obion; Deniyla Dixon and Misty McKinney of Drummonds; Kaitlyn McDaniel of South Fulton, KY; Ashley Blanchard of Benton; Diana Guillory of Milan; Lacy Coleman and Laura Delgadillo of Dyersburg; Celena Conlaol and Elizabeth Caviness of Lauderdale; Crystal Tubbs of Lexington; Genasia Allen, Mekiah Hayslett,, and Ava Rogers of Ripley; Courtney Brown, Wendy Garcia and Hailey Morgan of Newbern; Taylor Adams and Emily Anderson of Tipton; Jayden Crawford of Henning; and Nathaniel Burnett and Jayden Sexton of Munford.

The goal of PTK is to recognize its members’ academic achievements and provide an opportunity for them to become actively involved in student life at DSCC. As members of the society, students should exemplify its four hallmarks: scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. The Chapter Induction ceremony is a celebration of student success and commitment to academic excellence. “These students are not only the future, but these new inductees will lead the future in our community and industry. Personally, it is an evening I look forward to each semester as DSCC and Phi Theta Kappa honor leadership, scholarship, and fellowship,” said Associate Professor Dr. Brigham Scallion.

To be invited into membership in the society, students must meet the following criteria: a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher; completed 12 hours of college-level courses at DSCC, completed all college preparatory requirements, and currently enrolled in six semester hours or more as a student at DSCC.
