TCAT Students First In Tennessee To Earn New Certificate

Paris, Tenn.–The Industrial Maintenance program at TCAT Henry/Carroll has added a new certificate that can be earned by the students: Applied Industrial Motor Controls. The coursework for this certification teaches students the wiring methods and devices used to control several types of motors in the manufacturing industry. Techniques include manual and automatic control, forward/reverse, inching/jogging, soft/resistor starting, plugging, multi-station controls, overload protection, and others. This certification is provided by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) and administered by the instructor,Jeff Presson. Five students from the class, Adam Wigley, Chris McCurdy, Raleigh Blackwell, Tina Blackwell, and Zeke Blackwell, are the first students in the state of Tennessee to earn this certificate.
