Suspect In Robberies Arrested After Standoff

Dyersburg, Tenn.–This morning the Dyersburg Police Special Response Team, criminal investigations, street crimes unit, and patrol division executed two search warrants simultaneously in connection with the recent robbery investigations.
Martavious Brown, age 18, Dyersburg, was taken into custody after approximately 10 minutes of attempts by negotiators to have him exit the residence on Upper Finley Road. Brown was hiding in a bedroom with a small child.
Brown surrendered after the team deployed a robot inside the residence and they heard a child crying.
Brown is charged with aggravated robbery. Numerous items, including a firearm, was removed from the property as possible evidence. Additional charges are expected as detectives continue their investigation. The ATF, FBI SafeStreets Task Force, and the 29th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office assisted with the operation.
Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell said, “I am proud of our team for the countless hours dedicated to solving these robberies, and the tireless work of our detective division. I want to thank them along with our Federal and State partners who assisted us this morning.”
