kayla-lyell

Sedalia, Ky.–The suspect in sexual abuse and strangulation of a child is still at large and the mother of the child was arrested today for not reporting the physical and sexual abuse of her child and leaving the victim with the suspect unsupervised.
Graves County Sheriff’s deputies are still searching for Gregory Marshall, age 48, who jumped out of a bathroom window and ran off into a soybean field. Deputies went to a residence east of Sedalia to arrest him Monday afternoon and his escape followed a standoff.
A search was conducted of the area by foot, ATV’s, and by air with the use of a drone. The attempts to locate the suspect has thus far been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, today August 1, 40 year old Kayla A. Lyell of Sedalia was arrested around 2:15pm. She was charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment related to not reporting the physical and sexual abuse of the child and leaving the victim with the suspect unsupervised knowing what had previously occurred, and not seeking medical attention for the child.
Sheriff Jon Hayden said, “It is believed that Gregory Marshall is no longer in the Sedalia area and is receiving assistance from persons to avoid arrest. It should be known that anyone providing assistance to anyone wanted on criminal charges can and will be charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and charged criminally.”
If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of Marshall, you are asked to contact law enforcement.
