Bethel Bass Cats Sign Arkansas Standout

bethel-signing-july-7-2

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Bethel University Bass Coach Garry Mason announced the signing of Jeffrey Jones Thursday. Jeffrey is the son of Brent and Gwen Jones of Perryville, Arkansas and will major in Business Marketing.
Jones was an outstanding baseball and basketball player in high school where he was named to the all-conference teams during his prep career at Perryville High School. Jeffrey was on the Merit Roll and an Honors graduate at PHS. He received several scholarships and was a member of the Beta Club.
Jones played baseball for two years at the University of Central Arkansas before transferring to Bethel to join the Bass program.
Perryville High did not have a Bass program but Jones has excelled as an angler for several years. He fished the college national championship at Lake Hartwell, South Carolina and finished 90th in the nation.
The Arkansas standout feels his biggest strength is his versatility in fishing for Largemouth and Smallmouth.
Coach Mason commented on the signing. “We are thrilled to sign a student of the caliber of Jeffrey. He excels in everything he does. He is an accomplished athlete and even a better person. We look forward to him being a huge part of our outstanding program.”
