Paris, Tenn.–West Tennessee Healthcare has announced it is expanding its Women’s Health Services to Paris, with the opening in July of the Women’s Health-Paris clinic. The clinic will open July 13 at 405 Tyson Ave.
Dr. Robert Chin, OB/GYN, will be seeing patients at the clinic.
West Tennessee Healthcare also announced they will be opening a Women’s Health Clinic in McKenzie soon.
The announcements come on the heels of news that Henry County Medical Center plans to suspend its OB/GYN services in September. In a surprise announcement in late May, Hospital CEO John Tucker said Henry County Medical Center will suspend obstetric services for the foreseeable future, beginning Sept. 1. Seeking ways to keep the hospital financially viable has been the main objective the last several months for Tucker and the board, he said.
Since the announcement, strong opposition from the public has been voiced at a standing-room-only session at the Henry County Commission meeting and a community forum which drew 300 people last week.
