Union City, Tenn.–Ten students from Jessica Tuck’s Nursing Education classes now have options.

Those students recently passed the Certified Patient Care Technician exam, making them eligible for several healthcare industry jobs after they complete graduation requirements.

Morgan Palmer, Lainey Barker, Bailey Decker, Emma Powell, Serenity Roberson, Leah Beth Edmaiston, Bailey Nichols, Natalie Fowler, Allie Tucker, and Naryah Avent all earned passing grades on the NHA (National Healthcare Association) exam.

The test consisted of 100 questions and had a two-hour time limit.

Those students may now seek employment at assisted living facilities, doctor’s offices and/or hospitals following their UCHS graduation on May 20.

Many will choose to further their education at higher learning institutions before entering the job world. Their teacher insists they’ll be well-served by scoring well on the CPCT test.

She said the experience not only makes them marketable to possible employers but also serves as a solid foundation for those pursuing a future in nursing.

“I am super proud of this group of girls,” said Tuck, who is a certified RN. “They worked and studied hard all year, and their hard work paid off.”
