BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship field is set. The Skyhawks have earned the fourth seed in the tournament and will play the winner of No. 5 seed SIUE and No. 8 seed Morehead State on Wednesday, May 10 at 5:30 pm.
The event will be held May 10-13 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. It marks the 29th time the Championship will be held and the seventh year it will be held at the neutral site in Oxford.
UT Martin (21-22, 13-10 OVC) will make its 25th appearance in the event since the OVC Softball Championship’s conception in 1994. The Skyhawks have posted a 34-41 all-time mark in the tournament.
Southeast Missouri earned the regular season title and the No. 1 seed while Eastern Illinois clinched the No. 2 seed to secure a double bye into Thursday’s tournament field. Southern Indiana and UT Martin claimed single byes with their third and fourth seeds, respectively. Meanwhile, the quartet of SIUE, Tennessee State, Lindenwood and Morehead State rounded out the field and will battle in single elimination contests on Wednesday morning to advance into the double-elimination tournament.
