park-st-sleet-feb-1-2

By Shannon McFarlin News Director
Paris, Tenn.–All roads in Henry County remain extremely slick this morning and Sheriff Josh Frey said, “Looking at today’s forecast it doesn’t look like the roads will improve much today. We’re forecasted to get more ice after midnight into the early morning hours of Thursday. Please continue to use caution if you must get out.”
Paris Police Chief Ricky Watson said sidewalks, parking lots and city street remain treacherous in the city of Paris. “Please use good judgement and be cautious if you must get out!”
Meanwhile, both Henry County government offices and city of Paris facilities will remain closed today.
In Paris, this includes: Paris City Hall, Civic Center, landfill, and animal shelter. All emergency services will be unaffected.
Public Works is busy working around the clock clearing city streets and the city’s sanitation department is running on its normal schedule today. Please have normal household garbage out by 6 a.m. Please text (731) 333-9584 regarding any sanitation or bulk pickup questions.
Henry County’s government offices remain closed today, too. This includes the Courthouse, Annex, Airport, Health Department, Recycling Center, Central Services Building, Election Commission, Archives, and other general government offices.
Henry County General Sessions Criminal Court will be closed Wednesday as well. Those who had court cases scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday in General Sessions Criminal Court and are represented by an attorney should contact their attorney to ask about their new court date.
Both Frey and Watson ask motorists to use good judgment and to stay in as much as possible.
