Jimmy M. “Sally” Emerson

Jimmy M. “Sally” Emerson, 90, of Como, Tennessee, died Friday, December 2, 2022 at his residence.

He was born Saturday, December 19, 1931, in Henry Co., Tennessee, to Claude Maxwell Emerson and Beulah Z Allen Emerson, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church where he was treasurer for over 50 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge #108 and a member of the Martha Chapter 155 of the Eastern Star.

He was passionate about his sports which included, golf, fishing, washer pitching, softball, bowling, hunting, and card playing. Most of all he loved God and his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ethel Irene Collins Emerson, of Como, Tennessee,  who he married Saturday, August 16, 1958; his daughters: Linda (David) Allbritten, of Murray, Kentucky, Nancy (Bobbie) Rogers, of Trenton, Tennessee, and Susan (Roger) Nance, of Como, Tennessee; his son Dean (Nan) Emerson, of Bartlett, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at McEvoy Funeral Home, 507 W Washington St, Paris, Tennessee, with Dean Emerson (his son), David Allbritten (his son-in-law) and Debra McGuire officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery.

Jeff Henderson, David Henderson, Bobby Doran, Jimmy Myatt, Jerry Wagner, and Reed Shepherd will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are all of Sally’s golfing buddies.
