Evelyn Dale Norton, 91, of Paris, Tennessee, a wonderful cook and an avid Lady Vols fan, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Born Wednesday, January 21, 1931, to the late Mary Strader Dale and Reuben Dale. Evelyn was raised on a family farm in Henry County near Buchanan.

Evelyn was the bookkeeper and oversaw payroll for many years at the Clippard Plant. She later retired as payroll clerk from Tecumseh Products.

In retirement, each winter she and James, her husband of 64 years, who preceded her in death, pulled a fifth-wheel RV from Paris to the warmer weather of Arizona. Whether in Arizona or Paris, she scheduled her day around watching the UT Lady Vols play basketball. She loved all animals, especially her Boston Terriers; enjoying a Honey Bun sweet roll with coffee each morning; eyes teared when she heard Amazing Grace; and had a life-long affair with ice cream.

Evelyn is survived by her son: James Franklin “Frank” Norton, Jr. and daughter: Kathryn Dale Norton and husband Dennis Falls; grandchildren: Nicole Norton, Brian Falls, Natalie Falls, and Brandon Falls; and great grandchildren: Catherine Jasionowski, Caylee Kirk, Rowen Falls, Abram Falls, Adelyn Firestone, and Scarlett Firestone; also by nieces and one nephew.

In addition to her mother, father, and husband James, she was preceded in death by her brother: James Melvin Dale.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022, at McEvoy Funeral Home with John Dale and Rex Buford to officiate. Burial will follow the service in Van Dyke Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled on Sunday after 1:00 p.m. until service time.
