BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – A grand total of 161 University of Tennessee at Martin student-athletes picked up Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades for the 2021-22 academic year, the league announced this afternoon.
The 161 Skyhawks honored today are the third-most in school history. Overall, UT Martin has accounted for 2,621 student-athletes on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll since joining the league in 1992.
To receive OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition, individuals must have achieved at least a 3.25 Grade Point Average, have been eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition.
Individually, seven Skyhawks generated their fifth career OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll award. That list includes Amelia Campbell (tennis), Kamryn Chappell (soccer), Paige Clark (softball), Hannah Phillips (beach volleyball), Mizuki Sakurai (tennis) and Jule Streif (tennis) and Ethan Whitley (baseball). In addition, 10 separate UT Martin representatives earned their fourth career mention on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll list, including Hendrikje Baurmann (soccer), Addison Conley (beach volleyball/volleyball), Emma Davis (women’s basketball), Casey Harford (baseball), Rachel Mills (rifle), Will Oglesby (men’s cross country/men’s track and field), Paige Pipkin (women’s basketball), Karen Scanlon (beach volleyball/volleyball), Katelyn Schultz (equestrian) and Logan Wallick (beach volleyball).
The Skyhawk equestrian squad led all UT Martin teams with 22 honorees. On the OVC level, both the Skyhawk volleyball and beach volleyball squads produced the second-most honorees in their respective sports, each landing 10 members on the prestigious list.
All in all, the OVC recorded 1,329 student-athletes with at least a 3.25 GPA in 2021-22. It was previously announced yesterday that UT Martin was responsible for a school record 28 OVC Medal of Honor recipients for unblemished 4.0 GPA’s. The conference will release its Team Academic Achievement victors on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
