One Dead, Two Missing in Decatur County Boating Crash
Decatur County, Tenn.–The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency is investing a boating accident Saturday night that left one person dead and two others missing.
The accident occurred round 9 p.m. when a boat carrying three people collided with a barge on the Tennessee River in Decatur County.
The body of a woman was recovered last night and pronounced dead on the scene. She reportedly was 57-years-old.
The TWRA and local and area search and rescue crews are still searching for two missing boaters. According to preliminary reports, a Baja boat with the three occupants collided with the barge.
Response Agencies are in the area between Martins Landing and Saltillo on the Tennessee River. Decatur County Emergency Management is asking please if possible avoid the area with boat traffic to allow responders to work.
