ronnie-sharp-different

Paris, Tenn.–Fugitive Ronnie Sharp is still at large after stealing a vehicle in the Puryear area this morning and attempting to ram a Henry County Sheriff’s cruiser and a Calloway County Sheriff’s cruiser during a pursuit yesterday.
Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said it is believed that Sharp is driving a 2001 white Chevy Malibu which was stolen in the Puryear Crossland Rd. area today.
Frey said Henry Countians should continue to be alert and if they encounter Sharp, they need to call 911. He said Sharp seems to be staying in the area near the Tennessee-Kentucky state line in the north part of Henry County, southern part of Calloway County.
Monday, July 25, around 4:15 p.m., the Calloway County Communications Center was notified that the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a maroon SUV on Paris-Murray Road headed toward Calloway County. Deputies were dispatched to the area to assist.
According to the press release from Calloway County Sheriff Nicky Knight, the pursuit entered Calloway County and continued east on KY 893 at a high rate of speed at which point Calloway Deputies assumed the lead. At one point the SUV drove through fields in an attempt to elude law enforcement and almost struck a deputy head on. The pursuit then continued east on State Line Road to Osbourne Road back toward Tennessee.
Upon entering Tennessee, Henry County deputies assumed lead of the pursuit.
In an attempt to escape, the SUV entered a field and drove through wooded areas and attempted to ram a deputy. The SUV then drove through a heavily wooded area until it hit a tree and became disabled. The driver then fled on foot.
Henry County Sheriff’s K-9s, Marshall County Sheriff’s K-9’s, Calloway County Fire-Rescue’s drone and Deputies searched the area but the driver remains at large.
Anyone who witnesses any unusual or possible criminal activity is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 270-753-3151 or utilize the email address ccso.office@callkyso.com
