Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Schools Nutrition Supervisor Karen Wilson is retiring after 39 years with the district.

Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins said she’s sorry to see Wilson retire. “We’re very appreciative of the work she has done all these years. She’s spent 39 years serving students and that’s been a real benefit to the school system.”

Wilson and her staff received an award at the June school board meeting, recognizing the work they have done for the system’s children–feeding them during the school year and during the summer months, too.

Wilson noted at that time, “We fed over 420,000 meals last year from July 1 – May 28 and are currently serving over 1200 meals a day during the summer feeding program. We enjoy serving our community and take pride in the No Kid Hungry initiative in Tennessee.”

Dr. Watkins said Tiffany Latta, who has worked for the district for several years, will be replacing Wilson as Nutrition Supervisor.
