Benton County Mayor Lashlee Returns From Active Military Duty

brett-lashlee

Camden, Tenn.–Benton County Mayor Brett Lashlee has now ‘returned to duty’ as County Mayor after a year of active military duty overseas.
Lashlee’s military deployment 11 months ago placed Lashlee and the county in a unique position. During that time, Randy Shannon has been serving as interim county mayor, having been appointed to that position by the Benton County Commission in July of 2021.
Lashlee said, “It’s great to be back home.”
“Although I still serve in the Tennessee Army National Guard, I am no longer prohibited from performing my official duties as our County Mayor,” Lashlee said. “It has been a demanding and uniquely challenging 11 months, not only for myself in serving our country from afar but also for our county in meeting its operational responsibilities in my absence as well. I am now back at the helm and I will embrace these challenges and opportunities alike with my fullest attention to the best interest of our citizens and the future of our great county.”
Lashlee said, “I am honored to have served you and our great country in our military in answering the call to duty, but equally as honored to serve as your County Mayor. Its great to be back home and may God Always Bless our Beloved Benton County!”
