UC Man Charged With Distributing Drugs At Gas Station

Trimble, Tenn.–A Union City man was arrested by 29th District Drug Task Force agents and Dyer County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of distributing drugs at a local gas station.

According to the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Cooper was charged with Possession of Schedule I and II drug with intent, and also a Failure to Appear charge on a unrelated charge in Dyersburg City Court. Cooper is currently incarcerated in Dyer County Jail. He will be arraigned by Judge Jason Hudson on Monday May 9th at 9am in Dyer County General Sessions Court.

Agents with the 29th District seized 54 grams of meth and 11 grams of ecstasy after receiving information from a concerned citizen in the area about a subject possibly distributing drugs at a local gas station.

Agents responded to the area and observed the suspect. Agents quickly identified the suspect as being wanted for felony warrants out of Dyer and Obion Counties. A vehicle search yielded the drugs.

The office of Danny Goodman, District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District is prosecuting this case.
