Puryear, Tenn.–Puryear Firefighter Emma Walters waves to the crowd at Saturday’s Puryear Day Parade. Puryear firefighters carried a flag with the call number of the late Renee Sykes to honor her service with the local EMS. A large crowd was on hand for Puryear Day, which the Puryear Lions Club revived after seven years. The day was filled with activities, including live music, dunk tank (in which several dignitaries were dunked), petting zoo, kiddie cupcake walk, silent auction, arts & crafts, dessert auction, Fire Department tours and photos with the restored 1927 American LaFrance Paris fire truck which was driven in the parade by Historical Society President David Webb.
