Betty Ann Gibbs

Mrs. Betty Ann Gibbs, 77, of Dover, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, May 2, 2022, at Tennova Healthcare, Clarksville, Tennessee.

She was born Tuesday, October 31, 1944, the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Virginia Wofford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Bertie Knott.

Mrs. Gibbs was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and loyal friend to many. She enjoyed serving others and was active in her community. She was the first elected female County Commissioner of Stewart County, served over 20 years on the Bi-County Solid Waste Board, served over 15 years on the Stewart County Election Commission Board and enjoyed many years with the women of the Red Hatters. She was a faithful servant and loved the Lord. She was a member of Fort Donelson United Methodist Church and was an active member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her loving husband, of 61 years, Eugene Gibbs; son Bronson Gibbs, of Dover, Tennessee; daughter JoAnn Hicks, of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandson Adam (Lindsey) Hicks and great-granddaughter Adair Hicks. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Mr. Binks.

Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. and continue until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
