Murray Woman Injured In Hit & Run Collision

Murray, Ky.–A Murray woman was injured in a hit-and-run collision Friday afternoon in Calloway County and the other driver was arrested after later turning herself in.
At 2 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2021, Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Highway 94 East for a report of an injury collision. Upon their arrival, Deputies located a vehicle overturned off the roadway.
The other vehicle involved had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Shortly thereafter, a female arrived at Murray Police Department to report being involved in the collision.
Preliminary investigation has shown Maysoon Khatib was driving a silver Ford Explorere and Jessica Wright was driving a red Chevrolet Cruze, both westbound on Highway 94. When Wright attempted to pass Khatib’s vehicle, she sideswiped it, causing Khatib’s vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn.
Murray-Calloway County Emergency Medical Services transported Maysoon Khatib, of Murray, Kentucky to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries received during the collision.
Jessica H. Wright, of Dexter, Kentucky was cited for Leaving the Scene of an Injury Collision.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted on scene by Calloway County Fire Rescue.
